Summary

In this lesson, the following has been discussed:
A declarative, rules-based approach can be applied into the data transformation problem. The MTRANS
language that is placed on top of XSLT is introduced to describe data model transformations. XSLT is
generated from an MTRANS specification.
The mediator architecture transforms local XML documents into documents based on a global schema.
The presented data integration technique and the mediated architecture are complemented by an
incremental, evolutionary process model.
The problem of semantic interoperability needs to be taken care of in future.
