1 Inter-operability It is the ability of a system or a product to work with other systems or products without special effort on the part of the customer.
2 Encapsulation In general, it is the inclusion of one thing within another thing so that the included thing is not apparent. In object-oriented programming, encapsulation is the inclusion within a program object of all the resources need for the object to function.
3 Loose coupling It is an approach to interconnecting the components in a system or network so that those components, also called elements, depend on each other to the least extent practicable.
4 Agility In business, agility means the capability to rapidly and cost efficiently adapt to changes. Recently agility has been applied e.g. in the context of agile software development and agile enterprise.
5 Standardization It is the process of establishing by common agreement engineering criteria, terms, principles, practices, materials, items, processes, and equipment parts and components.
