Introduction

This lesson introduces the technical dimension of Mobile Enterprise Transition (MET), comprising among other things, mobile devices, networks, services, contents, etc. The resultant technical challenges include limitations of mobile gadgets, the need to provide reliability of connections, the importance of security of transactions, and the ability to develop suitable mobile services and applications. The technical dimension of MET focuses on "what" emerging technologies form the creative cause for enabling MET. It starts with an understanding of the disruptive and enabling technologies of communication (i.e., mobile technologies in this case) that influence the business world.
