8.4 MET Methodological Framework

The immediate question in setting up a MET framework is whether it should be an evolutionary, gradual
process or an immediate and radical transformation.

The experience of numerous professionals, especially those involved in change management, is that
the practical transition is always a combination of revolution and evolution—revolution so that the organization should not fall behind by not remaining competitive in the market, and evolution to reduce the risk of not having a successful E-transformation.

The overall framework enables a strategic transformation of the enterprise to a mobile enterprise.

When an organization decides to incorporate mobility into its business, it is a strategic decision that is
based on the primary question of why "mobilize."

This strategic decision is followed by the instantiation of a MET process framework.

8.4 MET Methodological Framework

The process framework is made up of four major dimensions of a process. They are the economic,
technical, process, and social dimensions, which deal, respectively, with the why, what, how, and who of any transition framework.
