3.2 Syllable pattern


3.2.1 Presentation
Since a syllable is a sound unit, each of the syllables has a vowel. The vowels in the syllable are represented by ‘V’ while a consonant is represented by ‘K’. The combination of ‘V’ and ‘K’ is known as syllable pattern.

There are 11 syllable patterns in Malay words.
