8.2 The Sources of Islamic Values

There are four sources values in Islam that are categorized into two categories i.e primary sources and secondary sources as being shown below:

Al-Quran and Al-Sunnah are the original sources while Al-'Urf and Al-'Aadah are secondary. Being as the secondary sources, it means any practices of values of a society which do not against Islamic teachings are permissible and accepted by Islam.
