1.2 The Meaning Iman

Islam does not complete without Iman. Do you agree with the statement? What is Iman? You may say it is faith or belief. Yes, you are right. Literally, Iman means to believe in or to be convinced. However, Iman is not jus to believe. There are components that make the meaning of Iman complete. The components can be found in the technical meaning of Iman. Iman technically means conviction of the heart, declaration of the tongue and act with the parts of the body.

1.2 The Meaning Iman

In other words, Iman means something that you believe and you confess it with the tongue and then you put the belief into the practice. That is the real meaning of Iman. So, if someone claims that he/she believes in Allah SWT but never pray or does no cover his/her aurah as required by Islam, his/her claim is wrong. Just to believe in and confession is not sufficient. It must be proven by action, then iman and Islam will be meaningful. Otherwise, the meaning is vain.
