1.3 Meaning of Ihsan (احسان)

Alhamdulillah, you have learnt the meaning of Islam and Iman. Now, let us see, another important concept that is IHSAN. What is Ihsan? Literally, it means aid, help and support OR perfection or excellence. Technically, it is you worship Allah SWT as if you see Him, and although you cannot see Him, you undoubtedly believe that He is constantly watching over you. In Islam, Ihsan is the Muslim responsibility to obtain perfection, or excellence in worship.

Ihsan does not only mean doing good deeds or helping others, it also covers your worship (specifically prayer but generally it refers to all actions that you do for the sake of Allah), in which while performing it, you feel that God is present with you or God is in front of you.

If you are not able to feel God's presence, you should be aware that God is seeing. Do you aware that you should apply Ihsan in all your daily? If you don't, you should from now because Ihsan will prevent you from doing evil deeds. Ihsan is very important in our daily lives. It strengthens our faith and prevents us from wrongdoings or evil deeds. Consider the following case. It is a good example of Ihsan. The presence of Ihsan in your belief, it make your Iman and Islam perfect and excellent.
