2.2 Reading about schedules (transportation schedules)

Most forms of transport come with a map system. This is a good starting point because it allows you to see the entire system at a glance. Identify tour starting point and your destination and look for the bus routes (or other form of transportation) that "connect" these points.

But routes are labeled and color-coded on the system map. This also goes for other modes of transportation. A time table or schedule is very likely to be attached with the map. It gives you the times of arrival and departure from various transportation terminals.

Passage 1
Ahmad who works as a taxi driver in the mornings and also an office worker in the afternoons, talks about his daily routine.

Every day I get up at 5.30 in the morning to perform Subuh prayer. By about 6 am, I'm already in the taxi driving around. I usually work until early afternoon, until 2.00 or 2.30 in the afternoon. At midday, around 12.00 or 12.30, I usually arrive home and then I eat, I have to change clothes, shower and then I have to go to the office.

I get up very early at 5.00 am for prayers. I start work at quarter to nine. My morning's work finishes about 1.30pm. I eat and have lunch. And then afterwards I come back to work at three until 7.00 pm normally. It's a lot of hours.

TV Guide Schedules

At this present time, watching TV (television) has become one of the most favorite past times for children and adults alike. In many countries there are at least 5 up to 100 different channels that one can tune in to. This is the reason for having a TV guide. The programs are divided into various categories such as entertainment, sports, documentaries and movies.

There are certain hours when these programs are aired. Some TV stations repeat their programs at different times and days. All this information is usually stated in the TV guide.
