Summary
We can possibly summarise the primary factors inherent in this lesson into the following points:
• It has been made clear that (Lord) emanates from an origin of master, he controlled and nurtured
collectively mean: he mastered. The Lord of everything means its Master. The Lord, Master, King and
Governor are names of Allah the All Exalted and others are not called as such except through adjunction.
Similarly it has been made clear that Divine Lordship is unique to Allah alone. No creation is worthy of
it no matter who they may be. And indeed this world does not have two creators perfectly
identical in attributes and actions.
• The intended meaning of Oneness of Divine Lordship is: the affirmation that Allah the All Exalted is
Lord of everything, its King, Creator, Provider and that He alone gives life and death, the Propitious,
the Distresser in this He has no partners. Inclusive in this is belief in destiny. He is called as such
because Allah is the Lord of all creation and blessing who nurtured his beloved creations who are
none other than His Prophets (PBUT) and their followers with the correct belief, noble character,
beneficial knowledge and righteous conduct.
• Evidences from the divinely transmitted reports regarding Oneness of Divine Lordship are
numerous and its encompassment is indeed a challenging task.
Summary
We can possibly summarise the primary factors inherent in this lesson into the following points:
• The two evidences of creation and care are evidences understood by all mankind whom
collectively derive evidences there from regardless of the variance in mental capabilities.
In this the Bedouin and Urbanite are equal. The verses that support this are plenty and Quran
uses it to remonstrate the non-believers for their recognition of His Divine Lordship for the
Oneness of His worship. For this reason He addresses them with affirmational questions so that if
they affirm His Divine Lordship He remonstrates against them that He alone is worthy of being
worshipped before reprimanding them for their associating others other than He although having
already recognized that He alone is Lord. For it necessarily follows that whosoever recognizes
that He alone is the Lord that He alone is then worthy of worship.
• Oneness of Divine Lordship alone is not sufficient to enter Islam in so long as it's not accompanied
with Oneness of Divine Godship. It is required that Oneness of Divine Godship accompanies it
for if Oneness of Divine Lordship alone was sufficient to enter Islam the polytheist Arabs in pre-Islamic
times would be Muslims and the Prophet (SAW) would not have fought them. Similarly Pharaoh and
his people would be believers as they were certain of the existence of Allah the All Exalted.
Summary
We can possibly summarise the primary factors inherent in this lesson into the following points:
• Oneness of Divine Lordship does not save one from committing shirk because the Tawheed
that causes a person to be Muslim and saves him from shirk is Oneness of Divine Godship
which is the foundation of Islam, the spirit of its theology and pith of Islam. For this reason
when the non-believers from Quraysh rejected this form of Tawheed their recognition of the
Oneness of Divine Lordship was not accepted because Allah the All Exalted does not accept
except this Tawheed which is Islam itself. In the Oneness of Divine Lordship all creation are
in agreement regardless of being believers or non-believers, while Oneness of Divine Godship
is the crossroads that distinguishes between believers and non-believers.
