11.2 Islamic education and social development

This side is important for the individual because human is a social creature who has got many relations with the other people. About the Islamic nation Allah says "Ye are the best of peoples, evolved for mankind. enjoining what is right, forbidding what is wrong, and believing in God. if only the people of the book had faith: it were best for them: among them are some who have faith, but most of them are perverted transgressors." (AL.'IMRAN 110) Which is considered as an evidence that this nation is the best among the other nation for its responsibilities.

The social rights.

To live in a community, this means that there are some interrelations between the one and this community. So we find Islam cares about these rights when he says in the Holy Quran "Why were there not, among the generations before you, persons possessed of balanced good sense, prohibiting (men) from mischief in the earth except a few among them whom we saved (from harm)? But the wrong doers pursued the enjoyment of the good things of life which were given them and persisted in sin." (HUD 116) and also "There is the type of man whose speech about this world's life may dazzle thee, and he calls God to witness about what is in his heart; yet is he the most contentious of enemies.(204) When he turns his back, his aim everywhere is to spread mischief through the earth and destroy crops and cattle. but God loveth not mischief. (205) When it is said to him, fear God, he is led by arrogance to (more) crime. enough for him is hell; an evil bed indeed (to lie on)! (206)" (BAQARAH 204-206).

The other creatures rights.

Islam, also, recognizes the animal rights, so Islamic education should prepare the Muslim to be good and merciful to other characters. The Sonna is full of instruction to encourage the Muslim to be good to animals. Of these Hadithes are "Allah orders to act perfectly in everything. If you kill be perfect in killing. If you slaughter, be perfect in your slaughtering for one must sharpen his knife and calm his immolation".

Another Hadith is "A woman has entered the hell fire because of a cat. She had tied it (captured it). She neither feed it, nor let it eat from the production of the land till it died".

Also "One of the Prophet has been stung by an ant, he ordered the ants village to be burnt, Allah has inspired to him "if an hunt has stung you would have distorted a nation that is parsing Allah".

The economic side.

The economic side is one of the social sides which cares about the human activities satisfying his needs. So, Islam protects the property when it:

Cuts the hand of the thief "As to the thief. Male or female, cut off his or her hands: a punishment by way
of example, from God, for their crime: and God is exalted in power."( MA'IDAH 38).

Who takes something of the land unjustly; he will come in the last day carrying its dust to the resurrection
(place).
Commands to maintain the public properties and not to take it without a permeation "Do prophet could
(ever) be false, he shall, on the day of judgment, restore what he misappropriated; then shall every soul
receive its due, whatever it earned, and none shall be dealt with unjustly."(Al'IMRAN 161)
Warns the Muslims of performing the embezzlement when the Prophet (pubh) said "There are men who
take from Allah's properties without any right, they deserve the hill fire for that".
Commands the Muslims to spend from their earnings when The Holy Quran says "And spend of your
substance in the cause of God, and make not your own hands contribute to (your) destruction; but do
good; for God loveth those who do good." (BAQARAH 195). Then it grants the Muslim who spends in
the Allah's ways "The parable of those who spend their substance in the way of God is that of a grain of
corn: it groweth seven ears, and each ear hath a hundred grains. God giveth manifold increase to which
he pleaseth: and God careth for all and he knoweth all things." (BAQARAH 261).
It also warns the misers " And let not those who covetously withhold of the gifts which God hath given
them of his grace, think that it is good for them: nay, it will be the worse for them: soon shall the things
which they covetously withheld be tied to their necks like a twisted collar, on the day of judgment. To...

...God belongs the heritage of the heavens and the earth; and God is well acquainted with all that we do." (AL-'IMRAN 180).
Commands the fair dealing and not to cheat the people in their things when the Holy Quran says " And
withhold not things justly due to men, nor do evil in the land, working mischief." (SHU'ARA 183).
Reminds the rich to give a sum of their wealth, specified or non specified, to the poor when The Holy
Quran says "And in their wealth and possessions (was remembered) the right of the (needy) him who
asked, and him who (for some reason) was prevented (from asking)." (ZARIYAT 19) and also "And
those in whose wealth is a recognized right (24) For the (needy) who asks and him who is prevented
(for some reason from asking); (25)" (MA'ARIJ 24-25).
Commands the well distribution of the wealth " What God has bestowed on His Apostle (and taken
away) from the people of the townships, belongs to God, to His Apostle and to kindred and orphans, the
needy and the wayfarer; in order that it may not (merely) make a circuit between the wealthy among you.
So take what the Apostle assigns to you, and deny yourselves that which he withholds from you. And fear
God; for God is strict in Punishment. (7) (Some part is due) to the indigent Muhajirs, those who were
expelled from their homes and their property, while seeking Grace from God and (His) Good Pleasure,
and aiding God and His Apostle: such are indeed the sincere ones; (8)" (HASHR:7-8) and also...

..."And know that out of all the booty that ye may acquire (in war), a fifth share is assigned to God, and to
the apostle, and to near relatives, orphans, the needy, and the wayfarer, if ye do believe in God and in
the revelation we sent down to our servant on the day of testing, the day of the meeting of the tow forces.
for God hath power over all things." (ANFAL 41).

Non Muslims

Islam organizes the relation with non-Muslims as follows:

When the Holy Quran says "God forbids you not, with regard to those who fight you not for (your) Faith
nor drive you out of your homes, from dealing kindly and justly with them: for God loveth those who are
just. (8) God only forbids you, with regard to those who fight you for (your) Faith, and drive you out of your
homes, and support (others) in driving you out, from turning to them (for friendship and protection). It is
such as turn to them (in these circumstances), that do wrong. (9)" (MUMTAHANA 8-9).
And in case they ask the Islamic opinion in an issue or a case, the Holy Quran says "(they are fond of)
listening to falsehood, of devouring anything forbidden. if they do come to thee, either judge between
them, or decline to interfere. if thou decline, they cannot hurt thee in the least. if thou judge, judge in
equity between them. for God loveth those who judge in equity." (MA'IDAH 41).

11.2 Islamic education and social development

They can live among the Muslims in the Islamic society under Islamic law but in case they want their laws
from their books to govern them, Islam doesn't refuse that.
Islam orders his followers to respect the non Muslims rights when the Prophet Mohamed (pubh) said
"who was unfair to a non Muslim contractor, deducted unfairly, some of his rights, forced him to do some
job which is difficult for him or took something from him without his permission, I shall be his lower in the
resurrection day".
As well as to guard their lives for the hadith "He who killed one of the people of covenant, he will not find
the smell of the paradise where its smell is found from a year of walking distance".

The security of the society

Islam keeps the members of community living in peace whether they are Muslims or not. For this target Islam does the following:

The bribery is prohibited in Islam and both of the briber and the bribed are in hellfire and be cursed.
Assure the importance of consultation principle as an aspect of the Muslims community.

11.2 Islamic education and social development

It is recommended to form a group among of the Muslims that call for doing the good deeds and not to
do the bad deeds as Quran says "Let there arise out of you a band of people inviting to all that is good,
enjoining what is right, and forbidding what is wrong: they are the ones to attain felicity."
(AL-'IMRAN:104) and disobeying this order may cause the curse of Allah as the other nations which the
Quran mentioned "Curses were pronounced on those among the children of Israel who rejected faith, by
the tongue of David and of Jesus the son of Mary: because they disobeyed and persisted in excesses.
(78) Nor did they (usually) forbid one another the iniquities which they committed: evil indeed were the
deeds which they did. (79)" (MA'IDAH 78-79).

Also the Hadith "If a man in a community was doing sins and this community can change him but they did not change him or punish him, then Allah will punish them before they die".

Islam commands the Muslims not to fight each other. In order to guard the unity of the nation, it identified
what Muslims should do in case of any dispute when the Quran says "If two parties among the Believers
fall into a quarrel, make ye peace between them: but if one of them transgresses beyond bounds against
the other, then fight ye (all) against the one that transgresses until it complies with the command of God;
but if it complies, then make peace between them with justice, and be fair: for God loves those who...

...are fair (and just). (9) The Believers are but a single Brotherhood: so make peace and reconciliation
between your two (contending) brothers; and fear God, that ye may receive Mercy. (10)"
(HUJURAT 9-10).
Islam, also, commands the Muslims not to mock or laugh at each other when the Quran "O we who
believe! Let not some men among you laugh at others: it may be that the (latter) are better than the
(former): nor let some women laugh at others: it may be that the (latter) are better than the (former): nor
defame nor be sarcastic to each other, nor call each other by (offensive) nicknames: ill seeming is a
name connoting wickedness, (to be used of one) after he has believed: and those who do not desist are
(indeed) doing wrong." (HUJURAT:11).
