10.1 Dialogue


The dialogue method is one of the most important methods that depends upon the understanding and convincing that base upon logic. It uses the question and answer in an interesting way that activates the mind and clears the meaning. It, also, encourages the learner to take actions and starting a competition as well as the useful contribution in the learning operation which leads to assure the information and increasing the positive trends.

The Prophet Mohammed (pbuh) realized the importance of the dialogue so, he used it in teaching his followers the principles of faith and the sides of Islam where he, sometimes, started by asking his followers a question before telling them what he wanted in order to prepare them for understanding his instructions.

An example of this is the following Hadith when he asked them: "Do you know who the broke one is? They said: "the broke one among from my nation who comes in the judgment day with prays, fasting and charity and he comes with insulting this, curing this, eating the money of this ,killing this alms. If his alms are finished before he pays his debits, he takes from them some of their sins then he is thrown into the hellfire".

From this example we can see the importance of the dialogue and the asking in acquiring the knowledge.

10.1 Dialogue


The ancient Islamic educators took this method from the Prophet and they thanked it as well as used it. Ibn Khaldun said that the right way in learning is the one that cares about understanding and conversation and gaining the knowledge is by the dialogue and the negotiation in the science subjects. So he criticizes the method of memorization and he considers it responsible for preparing people of narrow minds who don't understand anything of an importance in science. This assures that Islamic education appreciates the dialogues method because it sees, in it a logical lighting that calls for attention and a movement in the situation that activates the person as well as a challenge for the thinking that leads to trial and repeats it, till the one who dialogues riches to its destination in complete convenience and acceptance.
