9.2 Divisions of Methods of Teaching

c. The audio - visual methods.

The audio methods

They are all the methods that interested in the knowledge transfer from the teacher to the learner's mind through his ears such as lectures, speeches and recitals. We use these methods, specially, in teaching the Holy Quran and all the subjects that need good pronunciation.

The visual methods

They are all the methods that concerning the sight sense where knowledge and thoughts transfer from the teacher to the learner's mind through his eyes such as watching pictures or reading books, magazines and catalogues. These methods are more effectives than the formers for "a picture is better than one thousand words".

9.2 Divisions of Methods of Teaching

The audio - visual methods

They are all the methods that concern both listening and sight where knowledge and information transfer from the teacher to the learner's mind through his ears and eyes such as lectures when the teacher uses a black board or projector to help him explaining the lesson. These methods are the best effective because they deal with two senses. We can also, consider the methods that use smelling and touching when we want the learners to know the prohibited foods and drinks such as wine and alcohol.
