8.2 The concept of the curriculum in Islamic education


The Islamic concept of a curriculums is the group of knowledge and the eternal values given by Allah with which students deal in order to complete themselves to achieve their human perfection which is worshiping Allah alone by using suitable teaching and correction methods.

This Islamic view of the curriculum is different from the traditional concept in its target which is worshiping Allah where the traditional limits only to this life. So, Islamic concept is more comprehensive.

Also, Islamic view of the curriculum is different from the modern concept in taking worshiping of Allah in the account beside all human sides. The Islamic curriculum concept differs from the other two concepts in the following.

1. It exceeds the boundaries of the place of teaching outside the schools and universities.
2. It doesn't need special equipment that is of a high cost.
3. It is perfect of its comprehensive domain which covers all the moments of life as well as the last day (since
we are speaking about knowledge).
