6.2 Output Devices



Monitor

A monitor (see Figure 6.5) is a hardware device that is used for displaying multimedia on a computer system.
The quality of the display depends on the graphic display card that is installed on the computer system.
Monitors come in different types and sizes, ranging from the Cathode ray tube monitor which has been
replaced by the LCD monitors.

6.2 Output Devices



Speaker

Speakers (see Figure 6.6) are the hardware components of a computer system that provide the sound output.
They make use of an amplifier which is installed inside of them to further project the sound. As well as an
amplifier, they need a sound card to fully function.
