2.8 Sociotechnical Approach


This is most cotemporary approach where a combination of the technical and behavioral approaches are used as shown in Figure 2.5.
This is a more comprehensive approach as it takes into consideration the need to relate the technical side of IS in place to the way they fit in the larger environment where there is more human interaction in the form of psychological, economical and sociological factors.
It conforms to a better balance between the different resources of a business.
The sociotechnical approach creates a harmony among the different aspects of IS that results in better deployment of all resources, better decision making and better financial return.
