This system caters for maintaining the dealings with suppliers (see Figure 4.1).
This involves matters such as stock level, re-order level, order quantities and type of products re-ordered, after sales service (faulty goods for example), delivery.

4.3 Supply Chain Management Systems


The system should help management run a smooth cycle of inventory through ordering the right amount/resources at the right time – effectiveness.
Efficiency on the other hand means that this is achieved at the lowest cost possible without compromising quality of products/service.
Continuous monitoring and improvement of effectiveness and efficiency of supply operations is a key component in spanning the business.
