This unit will deal with the following issues:

The quality concept is started in 1940 and 1950 in Japan, the main objective of Quality management is to
understanding precisely what customers need and consistently delivering accurate solutions within budget, time.
There are two approaches to improve quality.
The tradition approach: in this approach efforts to improve quality have centered on the end of the product
development cycle by emphasizing the detection and correction of defects.
The new approach: to enhance quality encompasses all phases of a product development process-from a
requirements analysis to the final delivery of the product to the customer.
Every step in the development process must be performed to the highest possible standard. The next sections
explain the main quality aspects.
