6.3 Methods for handling deadlocks

The deadlock can be handled in one of three ways:

Deadlock can be prevented or avoided.

The system can enter a deadlock state, and then it is detected and recovered.

We can ignore the problem altogether and pretend that deadlocks never occur in the system.
