7.3 Design Plan


1. The main outcome of the design plan stage is a site plan which is a graphical model of all the pages of the site and the links between them.
2. An example of a site map for an online bookstore is shown in Figure 7.1.
Note how boxes represent web pages and arrows between them represent links between pages.

3. A site map is very beneficial in determining what is the content of the site and how it is distributed among the various web pages composing the site.
4. In addition, a site map is a useful tool in defining the navigational structure of the site and ensuring its consistency and ease of use.
