Introduction

In this lesson, the Internet as an internetworking system is first defined. The structure and hierarchy of the Internet are then illustrated. This is followed by an outline of various Internet protocols. The distinction between the Internet and World Wide Web (WWW) is finally discussed with an emphasis of the basic operation of the WWW.
