Introduction

Computer and data communication may be the fastest growing technologies in our culture today. They changed our life, i.e., technology, products, learning, business, playing, etc. Networks exist so that data may be sent from one place to another-the basic concept of data communications. This chapter is an introduction to communicating through network world. It gives briefly the main components of a data communication, and describes how networks support the way we live.
